The Coalition of Italian American Organizations of Delaware County (CIAO Delco) wishes to thank those who attended “An Italian Cabaret Evening” on Saturday evening, April 13, 2019. The Cabaret included dinner and refreshments, a Silent Auction, dancing and fine music by The Singing DJ’s … Tina, Franco & Leonardo!
Approximately 160 guests attended and the event was successful in raising over $3,000; all proceeds benefit the advancement of Italian Studies at Widener University, Neumann University, and Wilmington University; and, The Italian American Heritage Festival held annually, on the first Sunday of June.
All were fortunate to have in attendance last evening, Ms. Patrizia Calanchini Monti, Consulate General of Italy, Philadelphia, who spoke of the importance of keeping Italian culture alive and vibrant. Monsignor Ralph Chieffo, St. Mary Magdalen, Upper Providence, delivered the invocation.
Another highlight of the evening included the introduction of the “Italian American Heritage Festival Hat”, created and crafted by James May, Designer. The “Festival Hat” will debut at the “Decade Celebration” of the Italian American Heritage Festival on June 2, 2019, where we will “Salute First Responders & Fallen Heroes…Those who put their own lives on the line to ensure our safety!”
‘Salute’ to the creativity and enthusiasm of CIAO Delco volunteers who created a true celebration, Italian style!
